Did i ever tell you the story of the time i used my address 3x for training purposes to show cashiers how to special-order something at my store?
I made up 3 fake order forms and used my home address and phone number. I wrote up the ticket just like it was real, and put down real items we sell out of our catalog, with the intention of showing them how to process the order on a computer, but then STOP before you get to the payment screen so it would not generate an actual order.
Well, 3 times when i was not there, these order forms were used by another manager who thought it was a great training opportunity, and it generated three real orders - and i had to have someone call the HELP DESK to erase them. The only problem with this was i had also made FAKE NAMES.
Two of the fake orders were for "M. B. Chickenhead" and the other was for "Really S. Cool" ("S." standing for "Super").
So my friend was on the phone w/ the help desk and the help desk asks her "And what is the customer name on the order please?"
"Well we made the name up..."
The no nonsense help desk person says, "Thank you could i please have the name you made up then?"
"Well we made up a name... it was M.B. Chickenhead and Really S. Cool."
After this, the two of them had a fall-off-your-chair laughter session, and after we were both reprimanded for doing this in the "live" not "Training" mode, and we promised to never do it again. I'm sure that was the funniest help desk call they had that day.
BUT THAT'S NOT THE END OF THE STORY!
So i go down to get my mail today and i have - count 'em - 3 mailers from my company with coupons up the yin-yang made out to three businesses. 1. M.B. Chickenhead 2. M.B. Chickenhead (there were two orders for M.B.) 3. Really S. Cool
omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So if anyone wants a ton of really good OfficeMax coupons let me know; however i will be framing one and giving the other to Emily who had to call the help desk. Too funny!!! We must have somehow got entered into the database!
I also signed up for our Maxperks rewards card under the name of KT Rocks Inc., because i had to come up with a company name for myself. So there you have it.

Lord of the Rings? Eat Your Heart Out!
I forgot to register here that in the trailers before Episode III, there was a magnificent trailer for Narnia. I was breathless watching it and would have probably peed my pants if i had not made sure not to consume too many fluids before the film (i DO NOT get up in the middle of a movie!) But holy super crap this looks like it is everything they said it would be. I'm so looking forward to Dec. 9th when it opens. I knew what the trailer was for the minute the little girl got to the Wardrobe. And i could tell a few other people in the packed theater knew too. I could hear whispers of "Narnia! The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe!!!" and "I've got to see that movie!"
I am pretty sure i heard this was going to be a 3 or 4 part series like LOTR are. Way to go C.S. Lewis! I'm so excited!
The website for the movie is really cool too. Check it out.

I WANT A YODA DOLL FOR CHRISTMAS!!!
OMG. Went to see Episode III tonight. I was completely blown away. It was one of the best movies (other than LOTR) that i saw in the theater ever. I 'll have to see it at least one more time because there was so much packed in there. Even some great biblical themes like when that one sith tells Anakin "Double the pride, double the fall" before he tries to kill him.
Yoda tore up the whole movie. Completely great!
I found the time moved by really fast too. What people are saying (at least on the programs i listen to) are true for the most part. Yes it's dark. Yes the dialogue is cheesy, but all of the Star Wars films were that way. It's part of the way they are written. None of them are about taking acting classes. These are action/fantasy films. So i wasn't expecting great acting or great dialogue. (Tho i loved Padme's line of "So this is how liberty dies, to the sound of thunderous applause" at the senate meeting). Yes there are definitely things that can be cited as political undertones, if you want to find them you will find many of them... however i don't think it was intended that way. The whole thing about the war, democracy, freedom, etc. There is a lot. In fact the word democracy was used so many times in this movie i lost count. Almost to the point of being stupidly redundant.
The one part that really angered me (but you have to expect that) is the exchange right before the long battle between Obi Wan & Anakin
Anakin: If you are not with me, you are my enemy Obi Wan: Only Sith Lords deal in absolutes
Well, that's a direct slap in Christ's face, since He's the one who said "Anyone who is not with me is against me," And if you are a little kid watching this movie and hear that, then the next time you are in sunday school and someone says what Jesus said - then they will think Christ is an evil SITH LORD! hahahaha Actually it's not funny. It really made me mad, but i know that is the way these movies are written. And it's still applicable for teaching purposes for those of us who use this stuff in bible studies to talk about relativism - and how that of course there are absolutes in this life. Even to say, "There are no absolutes" is an "absolute" statement. Okay don't get me started.
Anyways awesome movie. Go see it!

As much as i hate to say it, it looks like they are gunning for Bo to be this year's idol. I think it could have been Carrie but she is not confident enough. She's almost too frail. I had this thought last night watching her. If you've ever performmed on stage for music or drama, when you're up there in the lights, your physical body movements seem big, but they are not as big as they are in your head. That's why drama coaches tell you to blow it up and be real demonstrative. Carrie, i think, in her mind thinks her little bounces and shakes are HUGE but they come across as weak and pathetic and timid. So she scrunches up her face or bounces some more. Her internal part: her voice does the job but it doesn't match her stage presence. This is something that could be worked on over a year and brought out of her. But i don't think she can emerge as this year's winner. I still think she'll get a recording contract and even may be close like Clay/Reuben and if Bo wins, she may still emerge as the bigger celebrity.

SUNDAY: Was super distracted by one of my students upon pulling into parking lot at our extended campus for church, so i left my car lights on and drained the battery. Went to start car after church, time to go home. It's dead. Thankfully didn't have to call AAA because one of my other students had jumper cables and knew how to do jump the battery. Lord i'm absent minded. Stupid mistake. Then, at 6:51 p.m. that night i was thinking i'd do some reading and then the thought hit me to just check what's on tv. So i look up yahoo and find out that DUUUUUUH!!! SURVIVOR FINALE IS THIS NIGHT! OMG. I panicked thinking i almost missed it. I totally had forgot about it and i never miss one episode of survivor. It was probably the best finale i'd ever seen. So crazy with the flip flops and Tom accusing Ian of trading off stuff when Tom had done the same thing to Gregg. Ugggg. But i'll have to admit i thought Tom was the best to outwit, out play and outlast. He did win it so good for him, if Stephanie couldn't have won.
MONDAY: Got hair cut. Too short and now i can't pull it back for work. Irritation waiting to happen bc it's no fun to put a truck away when you've got afro hair all in your face. Thick itchy. LOL
TUESDAY: Oh, that's right that is TODAY. Well, i had to go back to work today & it was not half bad. I found out two huge bits of news which are direct answers to prayer.
1. A supervisor whom i did not support becoming a supervisor is leaving - he got a job working in what he went to school for. This is such a relief to me bc i could not stand his leadership style, and it was not his desire to work there so it's a win-win for all involved. I'm so glad to see him go. One more person has been checked-off my hit list. [Incidently, it was spooky when i mentioned this to someone because this guy was like number 4 or 5 on my HITLIST to have now left, and i had said that i get what i pray for...] Only problem is, i'm on my own HITLIST and i want out of this carreer in a major way and every time i try to leave, i am blocked in. Example, comes from #2 ...
2. We passed our inventory. I am on record w/ many people saying this was a complete impossibility and it would be a literal miracle if we passed. Our goal was 0.86% (shrink) and we came in at an amazing 0.66% HOLY CRAP. That's a very good score. I had guessed it'd be more like a 1.3% - and that just shows you my lack of faith and how God works anyway. And this is going to be chalked up to me directly and my leadership in my department for conducting a successful inventory - another notch on my resume. As many stores are not passing this year, the fact that i came in and cleaned up in 2 months will make me shine a lot, so if anyone asks i'll give glory to God on that one.
Whew.
So, American Idol tonight and finally APPRENTICE final Thursday. I'm thinking Kendra might win it, even tho i always thought Tana was the better player. She really failed her last task. We shall see.

Yay, i'm on vacation still until Tuesday when i have to go back. Hung out with the fam for a week - getting out of the busy city was much needed.
So i made this meal today - something kinda new for me, some new ingredients i've never had before, and it turned out really good. You have to be adventurous in my opinion, to buy something called a JICAMA. But it was yummy. I got the recipe off the show "calorie commando" on Food Network. Have enough left over for a good 2nd meal too. I'd probably rather make it with ground beef - i am sure there is a way to do that too. I made it as the recipe called for it though. The only thing i had to change was that i could not find any "low fat" jalepeno-jack cheese. Had to buy the real stuff which pretty much blows the whole recipe to pieces bc there's a lot of fat in reg. cheese but man was it tasty!
And whatever a Jicama is, there was only one left at the grocery store and it's mine! My precious! Myyyyy precious!!!!!!!!!!!
(OKay i've watched Lord of the Rings too many times now...)

I'm going home for a few days 2-c-the-fam and you'll have to cope w/out reading this infrequent blog for awhile. What to do while i'm gone:
a. watch Lord of the Rings on vhs b. look for chemtrails in the sky c. buy things on ebay d. Vote for Carrie on Tuesday's American Idol e. watch the Apprentice finale on Thursday f. Shop at your local OfficeMax and see if you are handed a flier and asked if you needed any ink or paper when you check out at the register. Don't forget to fill out the online survey on your receipt either. g. Sing h. Eat cheese

 Tonight's Idol.
You know, for the first 4 songs i was so excited! Why??! Because there was no appearance of the dreaded MICROPHONE STAND! I was dumb enough to believe that w/ Constantine gone, and with Bo making it an entire song without THE MICROPHONE STAND that it would just not show up on stage.
I was wrong!
But Carrie used it, and then she gave it a good ol' kick just for me.
(Her first song rocked... her 2nd one was forgettable for me.)
Top 2: Bo & Carrie.
Middle guy: Scott (but as my mom says, there's something wrong w/ that guy)
Bottom 2: Vonzelle (good voice but forgettable) and ANTHONY'S GOT TO GO!
My vote: Carrie.
Oh yeah, and aren't you sick of hearing the words "DOG POUND" ??
That, and THE MICROPHONE STAND have got to go! And, Anthony!
3 things to go! Vote them out!

No secret that i'm a very big Todd Friel fan. This audio clip was aces. I don't know if the link will work. He talks about the difference of how most of us were taught to study the bible asking "What does this scripture passage say TO ME" vs. "What does this verse SAY?"
Really good stuff.

On Friday The Cops came to my store At 5:10 a.m. That was precicely 4 min. after I set off the alarm Because i had to break into the building bc apparently no one wants to get our lock fixed. And then i was too stupid to know to call the alarm company and tell them i'm me, and that i'm okay. Grr. Then i didn't lock the doors after that happened so the cops walked right in and asked my associate if he really worked there and then i came out of the cash office to check on something else and met the cops and tried to get them to smile, which they do not do, and then they reminded me to call the alarm company and also to lock the doors once we are in there. sheesh.
Yesterday I walked all over walmart bc they have everything everything everything there and i don't care how messy it is. I got all 3 lord of the rings movies for only $5.95 a piece (vhs sad) and also bought "Signs" the movie bc a lot of ppl tell me i need to see it. That was only $4.95. I watched it. It was kind of stupid but i got the point. The alien thing was dumb tho.
Who are you rooting for on The Apprentice??! I think Tana, from IA will win. She's the best one left. I've thought she'd win all along.
Go Iowa! My southern neighbor! She's from IA.
